Founded in 2018, the Brooklyn Drum Collective (BDC) began as a small gathering of drummers united by a shared goal: to connect, collaborate, and support one another. What started in a Brooklyn apartment quickly grew into a vibrant community addressing the challenges every drummer knows too well—unreliable backlines, navigating the music business, and the lack of accessible, trustworthy drum resources.

Directed by Carlo Minchillo, the organization provides professional drum repair and tuning services, community events, and educational opportunities that connect and empower local musicians. From maintaining backlines in Brooklyn’s studios and venues to hosting the popular BDC Open Jam at Umbra, the Collective continues to build community, celebrate creativity, and support the rhythm that drives New York’s music scene.
