BDC Community
Events
The Brooklyn Drum Collective is consistently building community focused events and partnering with local musicians, photographers and businesses. Our most notable activities include hosting our weekly BDC Open Jam at Umbra, educational drum clinics, and marching in civil rights protests. We are also widely known for our outreach to music venues, fixing and donating musical gear to improve live music events.
BDC Open Jam
Our open jam is widely regarded as one of the most welcoming and community focused events happening in Brooklyn. For over 2 1/2 years, musicians of all skill levels have been gathering at the BDC Open Jam to play music, meet new people and support each other in their musical journey. Read more about it from local music journalists, Natalya Kompaniyets and Scenes from the Underground.

Drum Clinics & Masterclasses
We've hosted drum clinics with famous drummers, such as Dimitri Fantini, Alex Cohen, Sanah Kadoura, as well as local drummers who are knowledgeable experts in the world of drumming.

Civil Rights Activism
In the wake of the global pandemic of 2020, we organized marching bands for many large and small protests supporting the Black Lives Matter movement across New York City.

Outreach to Brooklyn Music Venues
Helping over a dozen venues and studios in Brooklyn repair their backlines and drums is both a benefit to live and recorded music and a reminder that we can work together to build a stronger music community. The Brooklyn Drum Collective is here to support our fellow musicians with expert guidance and an extensive network of music professionals.
